Seafields Solutions Ltd. is launching a 60 000m2 nearshore seaweed farm off the coast of Antigua. The project uses proprietary marine infrastructure to catch, store, and harvest Sargassum seaweed for industrial production and long-term carbon sequestration. Their solution produces a range of sargassum based bio-products while addressing three problems: the climate crisis; the transition from fossil-fuel based products; and the urgent need in the Caribbean for efficient and sustainable systems for controlling and disposing of Sargassum seaweed from uncontrollable blooms.
